A 13-year-old girl, who was allegedly kidnapped and forced into prostitution by a woman with whom she was working as maid in Mayur Vihar area of east Delhi, has been rescued, police said today.

The girl was rescued from Govindpuri area, six days after her mother lodged a complaint at the Ashok Nagar police station about her missing daughter.

"The victim, her mother and their tenant Seema used to work as maids in Mayur Vihar area of east Delhi. The mother reported to police that her daughter and Seema did not come back home after work on June 18 after which an FIR was registered and investigation taken up," a police officer said.

The girl was rescued from a house in Govindpuri and Seema was arrested on Thursday.

Seema told police that she was in dire need of money for which she kidnapped the girl and pushed her into prostitution with an aide, Laxmi who was also arrested a day later.

"Seema had lured the victim with good food and other valuable articles on June 18. She was then taken to the Govindpuri house where she was raped by a man a day later. She was sexually assaulted for the next 4-5 days by different people. Both the ladies charged money from those persons for her sexual exploitation," the officer said.

Seema was produced in a court and has been sent to judicial custody. A case of forcing woman into prostitution and human trafficking has been registered against them. Further investigation is on in this connection, police said.
