The accused youths, identified as Sheru Kushwaha (17) and Sonu Kushwaha (18), entered her house in the village when she was alone and allegedly tried to molest her, Raisen Superintendent of Police Shashikant Shukla told reporters.
When the girl raised an alarm, the duo fled the spot, after which the victim felt depressed and took the extreme step of hanging herself in her house, he said.
Later, her parents reported the matter to the police following which Sheru was arrested, while Sonu is absconding, he said, adding a case under Sections 306 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against them.
