Minor girl employed as domestic help rescued in MP

An NGO has freed a girl child labourer, who was employed with a couple working with the Madhya Pradesh Government.

The girl was rescued by the NGO Childline in association with State Women and Child Welfare Department.

The 13-year-old was forced to work as a domestic help at the residence of Ajit Ekka, employed with Madhya Pradesh Armed Police, and his wife Seema in Limbodi area on Khandwa Road, Child Protection Officer Bhagwandas Sahu told PTI today.

The girl, who hails from a poor family in neighbouring Chhattisgarh, was sent here by her parents to work as domestic work and financially support her family, he said.
