One man, who along with two others had allegedly gang raped a minor girl in Panki block of Jharkhand's Palamau district three days ago, was arrested today, police said.
The arrest was made after the girl filed an FIR yesterday accusing three persons of gang-raping her on January 26, Superintendent of Police Y S Ramesh told reporters here.
The girl, a class IX student, was sent for medical examination, he said.
The CPI (ML-Liberation) observed a bandh today in protest against the gang-rape and demanded arrest of the perpetrators.
The police dispersed bandh supporters during protests and arrested party's district president R S Dinko for enforcing the bandh in Panki block, Ramesh said.
Left parties demanded immediate release of Dinko.
