Minor girl gangraped in Chhattisgarh; one held

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by three youths, including son of a sarpanch of her village, in Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.

"The incident occurred near Mauhadih village on December 17 when the class 8 student was heading towards her school, situated in nearby Gaud village on a bicycle," ASP Vijay Agrawal told PTI.

The trio, who were apparently lying in wait, waylaid the girl and allegedly raped her at a secluded place by taking turns, he said, adding they also threatened to kill her if she divulged the matter.

While police arrested one of the accused, identified as Negi Kashyap today, two others namely Ram Gulam Kashyap, son of the Sarpanch of Mauhadih village, and Manoj Kashyap are still at large, the ASP said.
 

A case has already been registered against the trio on complaint of the girl's parents.
