A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by five people at Mirza Tila village in the district, police said here today.

The case appears to be a revenge for a rape incident that took place on August 25, involving a girl from the family of the accused, they said.

S P (Crime) Rakesh Jolly told reporters that on the basis of victim's complaint, an FIR was registered against five including Gulzar, Shahid, Guddu and two unidentified persons in this connection.

The incident took place yesterday. The accused have denied the allegation and claimed that the victim's (minor girl) brother was falsely implicating them, police said.

The minor girl has been sent for medical examination, police said, adding that investigation is on in the case.

The girl of the accused family was allegedly abducted and raped by the brother of the minor girl in a village on August 25, police said.
