Minor girl kills self

A sixteen-year-old girl has

allegedly committed suicide at her home in Nand Nagri area in north-east Delhi, police said today.

Though no suicide note has been found, preliminary investigations suggest that she took the extreme step, as she had flunked her compartmental examination, a senior police officer said, adding the deceased was a class 11 student.

On Friday morning she checked her compartmental examination result and found that she had failed. She was upset because of her result and told her parents about it, they said.

She allegedly consumed some poisonous substance later in the evening, the officer said.

The family members rushed her to a hospital where doctors declared her brought dead, he said.
 

Police was investigating the case from all possible angles and the exact cause of her death will be known after the autopsy report is received, the officer added.
