Minor girl raped; six held

A doctor couple and four others were taken into custody in a case related to rape of a minor girl and her forced abortion at Siyawani village in the district, police said today.

The incident took place five months back, police said adding that while case under section 376 of the IPC have been registered against Dr Sapan Biswas and Surendra Ahirwar, Biswas' doctor wife Hema and three others--- Dr Ashok Chakravarty, Kishan Ahirwar and Bhuri Ahirwar-- have been booked for abetment of rape, Lidhora Police said.

"Five months back, Hema had called the victim to her residence and locked her inside a room, after which Sapan and Surendra Ahirwar had raped her. Later, when they came to know that the girl had become pregnant, the accused, in connivance with Dr Ashok Chakravarty forced her to undergo abortion," Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Jatara, N K Parihar said.
 

The victim narrated her ordeal to her parents, who work as labourers, after their return from Delhi, following which a case was filed with the police and the accused were recently arrested.

Further probe is on, police said.
