Minor killed while fiddling with unclaimed grenade

A 14-year-old boy was killed in an explosion today after a grenade, which he found outside his home and was playing with, went off in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.

Parvaz Ahmad Khan found the bomb while playing outside his house in Pattan area, 27 kms from here, and fiddled with it leading to the explosion, a police official said.

Critically injured Khan was rushed to SKIMS Hospital here for specialised treatment but succumbed to injuries.

His body was handed over to his kin for last rites, the official said adding police has started an investigation into the incident.
