Body of a four-year-old boy was

found today inside a jute bag in East Delhi's Geeta Colony, police said.

According to the police, minor boy went missing yesterday afternoon, while playing outside his house.

"The boy had left home to play but he did not return, following which, family members launched a search but could not find him," a senior police officer said.

They then reported the matter to the police, and "a case of kidnapping was registered on the family's complaint and several teams were formed to rescue the child," DCP East Ajay Kumar said.

While the police teams along with the boy's family members were looking for him, a passerby informed police about a body at an isolated place near a garbage bin.

"The victim's body was recovered from a jute bag around 4 km from his house," police said.

Police claimed that the victim's family did not receive any ransom calls, nor did they receive a threat call.

The only injury mark was on the head, which does not rule out death due to accident. But body being found in a bag hints that the boy was murdered.

A case of murder has been registered at Geeta colony police station and a probe has been launched, police said.
