The body of the school boy, identified as Mayur Sandip Naik from Mehrun in the district, was found lying in a pool of blood on Monday afternoon in the bathroom of the school, located on Kekat-Nimbhora in tehsil Jamner in the district, police said.
The victim's body was spotted by one of his school mates, following which police were informed. Injury marks were found on the boy's forehead and skull, who was studying in class III.
When the news of his death reached his hometown, his family members and residents of the village gathered at the school. They refused to take possession of the body demanding immediate probe into the incident. However, Jamner MLA Girish Mahajan intervened in the matter and persuaded his kin to take the body into the custody.
Police are investigating further.
