Miscreants attack police, free arrested gun runners

Armed miscreants today attacked a police team and freed five of his members who were arrested with illegal firearms at Barda village in Munger district, police said.

On the basis of information provided by two persons arrested in Delhi with 99 pistols, the police today raided Barda and arrested the five and seized six pistols and equipment used for manufacturing them, police said.

However, when the policemen were taking the arrested persons with them, miscreants attacked the team and freed the five, the sources said.

The miscreants also snatched the seized articles from the policemen.

Later, a large police team went to Barda and arrested four persons for attacking the policemen.
 

Delhi Police had on Tuesday arrested two persons from Sonia Vihar area and seized 99 pistols meant for various criminal gangs operating in and around the national capital.

The two were hailed from Munger district of Bihar and seized firearms were also manufactured there.
