Miscreants booked for attempting to break open bank lockers

Some unidentified persons have been booked for attempting to break open lockers at branch of a nationalised bank here, police said today.

The incident took place last week when the accused barged into the bank at Saket area here and tried to break open lockers and cut the bank vault with help of an electric cutter. They, however, could not succeed, a police personnel said.

When bank staffers noticed last morning that the lock on the back entrance of the bank was broken after it opened post weekend.

The miscreants had also smashed the CCTV camera, DVR unit and the alarm system, the complaint filed by the bank manager with Kapurbawdi police stated.
 

An offence has been lodged under IPC sections 454 (house-trespass), 457 (house-breaking by night in order to commit offence), 380 (theft) and 511 (attempting to commit offences) and no arrests have been made so far in connection with the incident, police said.
