A cab driver working with a TV news channel was abducted by four men who decamped with his car in central Delhi's Patel Nagar area, police said today.

Rajendra Kumar was at Patel Nagar metro station around 3 AM awaiting a phone call from an employee of the news channel, whom he had to pick up, police said.

Four men came to the spot and took him hostage at gunpoint, said a senior police officer.

They allegedly roamed around in his car in Ashok Vihar, Sarai Rohilla and Patel Nagar before dumping him at Shastri Park metro station.

Rajendra reported the matter to his company following which a case was registered at Patel Nagar metro station, the officer said.

The victim had taken a bank loan to purchase the car two months ago, he added.
