Miscreants hijack pulse-laden truck

Armed miscreants today hijacked at gunpoint a truck laden with 16 tonnes of pulses on NH 31 in Bihar's Nalanda district.

The incident occurred near Rupaspur village when a truck bearing a West Bengal registration number was on its way to Kolkata from Patna and the armed miscreants who came in vehicle stopped it, sadar sub-divisional police officer Nishit Priya said.

The miscreants beat up the driver of the truck severely, tied up his hands and later threw him out near another village before driving away the pulse laden truck, the

SDPO said.

The truck driver managed to inform the police of the incident, the police officer said adding that raids are on to nab the culprits.
