Two Food Corporation of India (FCI) rice-laden trucks were damaged when unidentified miscreants lobbed petrol bombs on Monday at the parking area of the depot at Mawroh, police said.
No one was injured in the early morning attack but the police have already launched an investigation into the incident, a senior district police officer told PTI.
The trucks were parked outside the FCI depot along side other lorries when unidentified miscreants hurled suspected petrol bombs, they said.
The police officer said that the attack was carried out by a group of miscreants and all leads are being examined.
Mondays incident took place a week after a security guard was allegedly murdered at the FCI depot at Byrnihat, along the Assam-Meghalaya border.
