A deputy village head was killed by miscreants near Navtol bazaar in Bihar's Madhepura district, police said today.
Murliganj police station, Station House Officer (SHO) B D Pandit said the deceased has been identified as Sanjay Das (39), the up mukhiya (deputy village head) of Parwa Navtol panchayat of the district.
Das was on way to his house along with two other persons on a motorcycle yesterday night when the miscreants attacked him. The other two persons ran away from the spot, police said.
The miscreants attacked Das with sharp weapons and slit his throat killing him on the spot, the SHO said.
