Even after 12 hours, the city police are still clueless about the identities of two miscreants who looted a car after firing at its driver point blank today.
The incident happened around 6 am just about 50 mts from the Purighat police station of the city.
"We have registered a case in this connection and a special team is investigating into it", said city DCP Sanjiv Arora adding that the police have retrieved the motorcycle of the miscreants and a bullet case from the spot.
According to the police, the driver of the car belonging to a travel agency was waiting near the police station for his passengers. Two unidentified persons coming in a motorcycle dragged the driver out of his car and decamped with it after firing at him.
The driver, identified as one Ranjit Mahapatra, has suffered bullet injury in his right thigh and is currently undergoing treatment in SCB Medical College and Hospital here, the police said.
