Miscreants loot Odisha Gramya bank

Miscreants allegedly looted Rs 8.14 lakh from a Odisha Gramya Bank branch at gun point in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district today, police said.

The incident took place at the Odisha Gramya Bank's Nichuapada village. At least three youths forcibly entered the bank and locked up the manager and two other staff in a room before decamping with Rs 8.16 lakh from the cash counter, said sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Baripada Suresh Jena.

The police have launched a manhunt to nab the youths who were speaking in Hindi, Bengali and Odia language, Jena said adding that none of the employees were injured in the incident.
 

Bank manager Kartik Biswal has lodged an FIR at the Baripada Sadar Police Station.
