Miscreants loot Rs 1.50 from man

Miscreants today looted Rs 1.50 lakh from a man, who was returning home after withdrawing the money from a nationalized bank's Golmuri branch near Tuiladungri here, police said.

Janardan Prasad, resident of Tuiladungri, withdrew the money from the Golmuri branch of Canara Bank and was returning home on a bicycle when two youths on motorcycle dashed him and snatched away the cash, police said.

People assembled on the spot after Prasad, who fell down and suffered minor injury, raised alarm but the miscreants decamped with the money by the time.

Police has launched a search operation after a case was lodged in this regard, sources added.
 

Earlier, a week ago, the miscreants had looted Rs 1.50 lakh from one Md Parvez Alam from near Mohammadan Line under Sakchi police station in a similar fashion on Saturday last.

Alam alongwith wife was returning home after withdrawing the cash from the same bank branch.
