Miscreants loot Rs 16 lakh from two in Bihar

In two separate incidents, miscreants today looted Rs 16 lakh from two persons, by shooting one and by holding another at gun point, at Bhagalpur and Madhubani districts respectively.

In Bhagalpur, five motorcycle borne miscreants today shot at a staff of a car showroom here and looted Rs 10 lakh from him when he was going to the bank to deposit it, senior superintendent of police Manoj Kumar said.

The incident occurred near Tilka Manjhi chowk when the man alighted from his bike.

Five miscreants were waiting at the spot and shot at him before decamping with the bag containing the money, SSP said.
 

The man was admitted to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, Bhagalpur and then sent to Patna for treatment, he said.

Police are trying to identify the miscreants with the help of CCTV footage, the SSP said.

An FIR has been lodged with Tilka Manjhi police station based on the statement of showroom owner, the SSP added.

In another incident in Madhubani district today, two motorcycle borne persons looted Rs 6 lakh from a staff of a petrol pump.

They held the staff at gun point and snatched the money, police said.

The incident happened at Navtoli village under the jurisdiction of Laukahi police station of the district, Laukahi police station SHO Ram Chandra Chaupal said.

Nobody was arrested in connection with the incident so far and police are investigating the matter, he said.
