Miscreants shot at a businessman and loot Rs 4 lakh

Two armed motorcycle borne miscreants shot at and injured a businessman and looted Rs 4 lakh from him near Dakbungalow square in Bihar's Vaishali district today.

Town police station SHO Sunil Kumar said the incident occurred when a businessman, who deals in fish business, identified as Vinod Singh was going to the fish market.

The bike borne two miscreants, first tried to snatch a bag containing Rs 4 lakh from him but when he resisted, they shot at him, the SHO said adding the injured businessman was admitted to sadar hospital from where he was referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Patna.
 

Angry businessmen and local people blocked Dakbungalow road in protest against the incident. Later, the blockade was lifted after the police intervened and pacified the protesting people, he said.

An FIR has been lodged in this regard, he said and added that police are conducting raids to nab the culprits.
