The miscreants intercepted the dalit boy, identified as Vijan, last evening while he was grazing cattles and attacked him with knives and tried to gouge out his eyes, the police said.
The miscreants fled after the boy raised alarm, they said.
Vijan was rushed to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) with eye injury, the police said.
Superintendent of Police Lalan Mohan Prasad said a case has been registered by the injured boy's mother in this connection.
Raids were being carried out to nab the culprits, he said.
