Terming fellow director Srijit Mukherjee's 'Mishawr Rawhoshyo' as our 'Indian Jones', new age film maker Mainak Bhowmik says the film looks spectacular.

"Looks brilliant. It has an Indiana Jones-feel, with our essence and spirit. Srijit has done an amazing job," the Maach Misti and More maker told PTI at the premier of the film.

"Happy with the children's response. Happy that it has been received so well by the audience. This gives me confidence," Bengali film superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, who plays the larger than life, adventurist, globe-trotter Kakababu in the flick, said.

"Yes from the extensive desert shoots to the locales under the pyramid, we had shot real time in Egypt. We could have shot in Rajasthan, or done two-three day shoot in Egypt and conjured up the rest with Computer Graphics Imagery.

"But we did not compromise and I agree if you say Mishawr Rawhoshyo has big canvas Hollywood look with typical Bengali essences and characterstics," Srijit said.

Actor Indraneil Sengupta, essaying one of the superlative performances of his life as Hani Alkadi, the poetically inclined desert brigand, "resembled an Egyptian actor," Srijit said.

"Indraneil is not typical Bengali looking. And people in Egypt told me he had great similarities with an actor over there," the Hemlock Society maker said.

Asked if it was more of a coincidence all but one of his previous films had been released during Puja and it went in his favour, the trend-setter Autograph maker smiled, "Let's hope the magic works out again."

"Wonderfully crafted. I loved it," Shabdo director Kaushik Ganguly said.

Mishawr Rawhoshyo, produced by Shree Venkatesh Films, may also be screened in film festivals abroad, Srijit said.

"We have bought rights of five Kakababu books. Me, Venkatesh and Srijit together. Let's hope we can take this forward," Prosenjit said.
