A 11-year old boy, missing for the past three days, was allegedly killed by his neighbour in a fit of anger during a quarrel here, police said today.

The body of the boy has been found. Police said the neighbour, 21-year-old Vishwanath, had confessed to the crime.

Kishore, a Class 6 student in a private school near here, went missing on September 23 after he left home saying that he was going to play cricket with his friends.

When he did not return home, his parents went looking for him, and later lodged a police complaint. Police after investigations questioned the neighbour, who allegedly admitted that he had killed the boy.

He told the police that Kishore had objected to his smoking on the ground where they were playing, and asked him to leave the area.

Angered over this, he later confronted Kishore and held him by his throat, following which the boy collapsed, he said.

When he discovered that Kishore had died, he took the body to a vacant place near his house and buried it there, the police said.

Police said they arrested the youth and dug the body out this morning.
