The body of a 10-year-old boy, suspected to have been killed by someone practising black magic, was found in Raya town in the district, police said today.

The eyes and some other organs were missing from the body, leading to suspicion that the boy had been killed for black magic, Circle officer Rajender Singh Yadav said, adding that blood drops were also found on the roots of a nearby tree.

The boy, Suraj, had gone to graze animals in the jungle 10 days ago and had been missing since then, he said.

A missing person's complaint was filed by Suraj's family, following which police started investigation and found Suraj's body in Dayal jungle of Dhakpura village yesterday.

The blood found on the tree roots has been sent for test to confirm if it matches with Suraj's blood group, Yadav said.
