A 5-year-old dumb and deaf boy, who went missing on August 8, has been reunited with his parents by Delhi Police's Anti Human Trafficking Unit (East).

The boy was last spotted playing outside his house in northeast Delhi's Seemapuri area. He somehow reached Shahdara railway station, from where he was rescued by an NGO and kept at a shelter for children, a police official said today.

The boy was tracked under a special drive - which is known by the name 'Operation Milap' in certain districts and 'Operation Muskaan' in others - launched by Delhi Police last year in order to link missing children with their families.

Hundreds of missing persons reports are scanned every month under the scheme by a dedicated police team, said Ajay Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (East).
