Missing children cases priority for police

Thane Police Commissioner Vijay Kamble said here today that police gives utmost importance to missing children cases as they are issues of grave concern for the department.

Addressing gathering at the function organised by Thane police to mark Chidlren's Day, Kamble said that the Child Protection Unit, set up at the police Commissionerate to trace missing children has done a commendable job since its inception in last six months.

People should view cases of abduction (of children) as a serious issue as many of kidnapped children are subjected to cruelty and physical exploitation.

Joint Commissioner, V V Laxmi Narayana and other officials were also present on the occasion along with students.
 

Differently-abled children, seven children, who were rescued from clutches of child labour were also felicitated at the function.
