Missing girl's body found in Mayur Vihar

A 17-year-old girl who had gone missing on Tuesday was found dead this morning in Mayur Vihar area of East Delhi, police said.

According to the police, the body of the girl, who was a student of class 12th, was found in a drain.

Following the recovery of the body, angry parents, relatives and locals gathered outside Mayur Vihar police station and protested alleging police inaction in the case.

"It seems to be a case of suicide but we are waiting for the post-mortem examination report in the case. There were no signs of any external injury on the body," said a police official.
 

Parents of the girl had filed a missing report after the girl did not return from her school. The family resides in Trilokpuri area.

Police today received a call about the body of a girl in Mayur Vihar area. Her parents identified the body with the help of a tattoo which was her name, an official said.
