Missing Jadavpur university student found dead in Arambagh

The body of a student of Jadavpur university who was missing since February 14 was found today at Arambagh in Hooghly district, police sources said.

Surojit Singh (21), a MA second year student of Jadavpur university and a resident of Alipore Road in Chetla, Kolkata was missing since February 14.

Surojit's father Sailen Singh had lodged a missing complaint with the Chetla police station in Kolkata about his missing son.

Today some ragpickers found a decomposed body under the Kalipur bridge in Arambagh and immediately informed the police.

Sailen Singh identified the body as that of his son Surojit.

He alleged that his son was killed by the family of a girl of Arambagh with whom he was in love.
 

The Inspector-in-Charge of Arambagh police station S Das said the body has been sent for postmortem. Only after we get the postmortem report and the viscera report we could know the cause of the death.
