Worried over Ibrahim Sharif, an officer in the Indian Bureau of Mines posted here, missing for over two months now, his wife today demanded a CBI probe.
"Even after two months the police are still clueless and there is no word from them about the status of their inquiry. I would, therefore, demand that the case be handed over to the CBI considering that my husband is a class-I gazetted officer of the central government," Ibrahim's wife Salma Parveen Begum said.
"We request Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to understand the pain that the family is going through and assure us of speedy investigation or hand over the case to CBI immediately," Salma said.

She said that the Facebook account of her husband was accessed and its password changed on December 24 last year.
"There may be possibility that someone has changed the password by extracting the details from my husband to misguide the investigation and to create an impression that there is a personal or family angle to his disappearance and suppress the real motive behind his abduction," she said.
Salma said the family would ask Ibrahim to resign from his post in case he returned.
Ibrahim, who is from Karnataka, was suspected to have been abducted on his way to office in Chandrasekharpur about two months ago.
Inspector-in-charge of Infocity police station Bijayini Singh said "So far we have not managed to get a tangible lead in the case, but investigation is on.
