Missing student fished out from river in Gujarat

The body of a 19-year-old student, who went missing, was today fished out from Mahisagar river, police said today.

Body of Simran Dahiya, was traced and taken out from the river at Lachhanpura village of Salvi tehsil in the district. She along with her six friends had gone for picnic on Sunday, L L Mahida, head constable of Salvi town police station said.

On Sunday, Dahiya and Ayushi Jaiswal (19) slipped into the river and were missing. Ayushi's body was fished out yesterday, he said.

Daihya hailed from Sihor in Rajasthan and was pursuing her studies at city-based M S University, the official added.
 

Rescue operations were launched by a team of Vadodara Municipal Corporation, National Disaster Response Force and locals and her body has been sent for post-mortem, Mahida said.
