Missing teenage girls rescued, architect arrested

The two 17-year-old girls were missing from Lodhoma, about 70 km from Darjeeling.

One of the girls informed her friend over phone that they were held captive in the house of architect Pravin Mukhia near Siliguri, police said.

The friend informed the police about the phone call. Based on the information police raided the house of Mukhia near Siliguri and rescued the two girls yesterday, the sources said, adding police also arrested Pravin Mukhia.

Mukhia was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court today which remanded him to judicial custody till September 28. RG
