Relatives of a 21-year-old man, who went missing in Himachal Pradesh on May 8 after the SUV in which he travelled fell into a river near Shimla, have urged the government to continue search efforts to locate him.

C Magesh was on a holiday with three friends to Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh. On May 8, the SUV in which they were travelling toppled into the Sutlej River near Reckong Peo.

Though bodies of two persons were recovered, there was no trace of Magesh or the SUV. The fourth person, a girl, has been admitted to a hospital in Shimla.

D Chandran, father of Magesh appealed to the Himachal Pradesh government authorities, including police, to continue search operations to locate his missing son.

"We understand that the search will be wound up without any confirmation about my son's whereabouts. I request the authorities to extend the search," he said.
