Missing youth's body found in river

The body of a youth, who had been missing since Thursday, was fished out from river Jhelum here today, police said.

The body of Farooq Azam Khan, a resident of Patlipora in Chatabal area of Srinagar, was fished out from Jhelum near Shalteng here, a police spokesman said.

He said the youth, who was working as a salesman in a computer shop in the commercial hub of Regal Chowk here, had been missing since August 22.

A missing report was lodged by his brother at Kothibagh police station on August 23, the spokesman said.

He said the postmortem of the deceased had been conducted and there was no visible mark of torture on the body.
 

The body was later handed over to his family for last rites, he said.
