Congress has fielded Mukut Mithi from Arunachal Pradesh and Ronald Sapa Tlau from Mizoram to contest the biennial elctions to the Rajya Sabha in the two states.
While the seat in Arunachal Pradesh fell vacant following the retirement of Mithi from the House on May 26, the seat in Mizoram fell vacant as Lalhaming Liana of Mizo National Front retires as a member of Upper House on July 18 this year.
"Congress President Sonia Gandhi has approved the candidature of Mukut Mithi from Arunachal Pradesh and Ronald Sapa Tlau from Mizoram to contest the biennial elections to the Rajya Sabha as party candidates," AICC general secretary (Organization) Janardan Dwivedi said in a press release.
