West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Kumar Mitra, contesting Assembly poll from Khardaha seat in the adjoining North 24-Parganas district, has declared assets worth over Rs 7.5 crore.
According to the affidavit filed by him before the Election Commission, the Trinamool leader's income for the year 2014-15 was Rs 14.82 lakh while his author wife earned more than him - almost Rs 17 lakh.
Mitra's movable assets include cash in hand, bank balance, investments, car and silver, totalling close to Rs 5 crore while his wife has assets worth over Rs 1.3 crore.

Mitra, a PhD in Economics from Duke University, had served as the secretary-general of industry chamber FICCI for a long time before joining politics during the last Assembly polls.
