Mixed trend prevail at wholesale sugar market

Mixed trend prevailed at the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today with spot and private mills sweetener prices strengthened on robust demand amid tight supplies.

The government mills prices turned weak on heavy supplies to meet unwanted sharp fluctuations.

Marketmen said strong buying by stockists and retailers due to new month amid tight supplies from mills particularly pushed up sugar spot and privative mills prices.

Meanwhile, persistent arrivals from government mills to kerb unexpected sharp rise in sweetener prices caused the fall in government mills prices.

Sugar spot M-30 and S-30 prices asked higher by Rs 100 each to end at Rs 3,920-4,000 and Rs 3,910-3,990 per quintal.
 

However, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices ruled mixed at Rs 3,510-3,640 and Rs 3,500-3,630 as compared to previous close of Rs 3,560-3,615 and Rs 3,550-3,605 per quintal.

In millgate section, private mills such as Mawana, Kinnoni, Asmoli, Dorala, Budhana, Thanabhavan and Simbholi prices rose up to Rs 40 to settle at Rs 3,610, Rs 3,640, Rs 3,620, Rs 3,610, Rs 3,605, Rs 3,600 and Rs 3,625 per quintal.

On the other hand, government mills like Anupshaher, Ramala, Baghpat, Morna and Nazibabad prices declined up to Rs 55 to finish at Rs 3,510, Rs 3,525, Rs 3,530, Rs 3,520 and Rs 3,525 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 39.00-43.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,920-4,000, S-30 Rs 3,910-3,990.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,610-3,640, S-30 Rs 3,600-3,630.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,610, Kinnoni Rs 3,640, Asmoli Rs 3,620, Dorala Rs 3,610, Budhana Rs 3,605,Thanabhavan Rs 3,600, Dhanora Rs 3,610, Simbholi Rs 3,625, Khatuli Rs 3,625, Dhampur Rs 3,580, Ramala Rs 3,525, Anupshaher Rs 3,510, Baghpat Rs 3,530, Morna Rs 3,520, Sakoti Rs 3,590, Chandpur Rs 3,580, Nazibabad Rs 3,525 and Modinagar 3,600.
