The wholesale pulses market continued to show a mixed trend today as prices of urad and arhar strengthened on pick up in demand against tight supplies, while masoor and gram eased on lack of buying support.
Traders said besides pick up in demand from retailers, restricted supplies from producing belts kept urad and arhar prices higher but adequate stocks against lack of buying support at current levels kept pressure on masoor and gram prices.
In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local advanced by Rs 100 each to Rs 8,700-9,300 and Rs 9,700-9,900 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 9,800-10,400 and Rs 10,200-10,500 per quintal, respectively.
Arhar also strengthened to Rs 9,500-9,900 from previous close of Rs 9,500-9,700 per quintal.
On the other hand, masoor small and bold fell further by Rs 50 each to Rs 6,700-7,300 each per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,800-7,900 and Rs 7,900-8,000 per quintal.
Gram, gram dal local and best quality were down by Rs 50 each to 4650-5350, Rs 4950-5150 and Rs 5050-5350 per quintal respectively.
