Mizoram govt allocates Rs 527.5 mn for assembly election expenses

The Mizoram government has allocated Rs 527.5 million towards expenses of the November 28 state legislative assembly polls, finance department officials said on Friday.

The officials said the finance department has released Rs 325 million to the state election department.

Of the Rs 527.5 million election budget, Rs 377.5 million will be disbursed to eight district election offices, while Rs 40 million will go to the state election directorate.

The officials said Rs 110 million was the total estimate for expenses to be incurred on deployment of 40 companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), which was regarded as on the higher side.

 

The expenditure for the state assembly election is to be borne entirely by the state government, they said, adding
