Mizoram govt places under suspension principal secy Industries

P C Lallawmsanga, principal secretary to the Mizoram Government, Department of Industries was placed under suspension by the government for his alleged involvement in the establishment of the Mizoram Direct Marketing Limited without being authorised by the government.

Though the order issued by the Mizoram chief secretary L Tochhong late last evening did not give any specific reason for the 1984 batch Tamil Nadu cadre IPS officer's suspension, Tochhong yesterday told some media persons that the government was contemplating of taking disciplinary action against him.

Lallawmsanga on deputation from Tamil Nadu, allegedly established the Mizoram Direct Marketing Limited a multi-level marketing enterprise, and launched the same on July 18 at the Science City Auditorium in Kolkata, attended by a galaxy of executives from powerful companies and former senior bureaucrats, especially from Tamil Nadu.
 

He was accused of establishing the firm, as the Mizoram government owned company without getting the nod from the cabinet and also without permissions from the state Finance and Planning departments.

The Disclaimer issued by the state government yesterday said that whatever Lallawmsanga did in this matter was not on behalf on the government.

The suspension order said that he should not leave Aizawl without obtaining prior permission from the competent authority.
