Mizoram govt sold 125.97 million units of power : CM

Mizoram government sold 125.97 million units of power during 2014-15 and 2015-16, state Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla informed the legislature today.

In a written reply to a question from Lalruatkima of the Mizo National Front (MNF), Lal Thanhawla, who also holds Power and Electricity portfolio said that the rate of selling power during 2014-15 was Rs 3.

13 per unit and Rs 2.

20 per unit

in 2015-16.

He said that the state government inked the Power Trade Agreement on August 15, 2008 with Manikaran Power Limited (MPL), Kolkata after a competitive bidding.

"The MPL was already a member of the Indian Energy Exchange and had introduced power trading to Mizoram government," he said adding that the agreement was for a year and to be extended for a year.
