The Mizoram Pay Committee, 2017, constituted by the state government to study the recommendations of 7th Central Pay Commission, submitted its reports and recommendations today.

The suggestions were submitted to state Finance Minister Lalsawta, an official statement said here.

The committee, headed by former finance minister H Liansailova, recommended implementation of the 7th Pay Commission in the state, it said.

Liansailova said that the increase in the salaries of the state government employees, if the recommendations of the commission were to be implemented, would not be more than 18 per cent.

The committee's report would be submitted to the government for further scrutiny and would be placed before the state Cabinet for final approval, Lalsawta said.

He said that the Mizoram government would incur an additional expenditure to the tune of Rs 563.24 crore.

He had earlier informed the state legislature that the state government intended to implement the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations during the 2018-2019 fiscal.

The four-member Mizoram Pay Committee, 2017 was constituted on November 13 last year and asked to submit its report within six months.
