Mizoram remained cut off by road from the rest of the country Wednesday with the opposition Mizo National Front(MNF) staging a 12-hour blockade on the vital NH-54 in Kolasib district, police said.
The Kolasib district unit of the MNF organised the road block in protest against the bad road condition of the national highway, the lifeline of the state.
Vehicles were not plying on NH 54, linking the landlocked state with the rest of the country, after the blockade began at 5am.
No untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the district, the police said.
