Mizoram seeks affiliation from BCCI

The Mizoram Cricket Association has sought affiliation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya had a discussion with Biswajit Deb, Advocate General of Mizoram in this regard.

Dalmiya has forwarded the matter to the affiliation committee members with a request to take it up for consideration.

With regards to promotion of the game in the North Eastern states, Dalmiya has already sent his recommendations to the New Area Development Committee which included preparation of more turf wickets, conducting coaching programmes, appointment of coaches and support staff, supply of ground equipment and cricket gears, preparation of budgets for development programmes and its continuous monitoring.
 

"Also, the recommendations included development of one cricket ground, one mini "budget" stadium and one indoor coaching facility per state," BCCI stated in a release.

Chief Minister of Mizoram Lal Thanhawala, who is also the President of Cricket Association of Mizoram, thanked Dalmiya for the initiative.
