Mkt officer arrested for taking bribe from PDS dealer

The Market Officer of Sadar block, Virendra Kumar Singh, was today arrested by the State Vigilance department officials, while accepting bribe from a PDS dealer near Bairaya chowk under Medininagar police station of Palamau district, Vigilance department officials said.

Singh was arrested when he was accepting Rs 10,000 from PDS dealer Amleshwar Pandey, they said.

Pandey had lodged a complaint with the state vigilance department against Singh for demanding the bribe and sleuths from Ranchi laid a trap and arrested him while he was accepting the chemical applied currency notes.

Singh has been taken to Ranchi for further interrogation, the officials added.
