Independent MLA from north Kashmir's Langate constituency Sheikh Abdul Rashid today said he has moved two resolutions in the Assembly seeking return of mortal remains of Afzal Guru and release of all political prisoners to create conducive atmosphere for peace in the state.
"I have moved two resolutions in the Assembly and I hope the Speaker will take them up in the forthcoming Assembly session as they are of crucial importance for the return of peace in Jammu and Kashmir," Rashid told reporters here.
The first resolution was to seek the unconditional release of all political prisoners languishing in different jails in the country, Rashid said.

Another resolution, the MLA said, was to seek the mortal remains of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, who was hanged inside Tihar Jail on February 9, 2013.
"Let the House resolve mortal remains of late Afzal Guru hanged in Tihar Jail be returned back to the family on humanitarian ground so that his family can perform his last rights according to the religious obligations," the resolution read.
Rashid said he would write to the Assembly Speaker to admit both the resolutions without a draw of lots.
