The election to the Maharashtra Legislative Council from the Thane Local Authorities constituency will be held on June 3.
The term of the MLC and the deputy chairman of the Council Vasant Davkhare is ending on June 8, necessitating the election.
Resident Deputy Collector Vandana Suryavanshi said here that the model code of conduct has come into force in the two districts of Thane and Palghar from May 4 when the Election Commission made the announcement of the election.

Election will be held on June 3 between 8 am and 4 pm. Counting of votes will be undertaken on June 6.
Deputy district election officer Farogh Mukadam said the constituency has a total of 1,060 voters. The elected and nominated members of the municipal corporations, municipal councils and zilla parishads of Thane and Palghar districts are eligible to vote.
Dahvkare, a veteran NCP leader, is expected to contest the poll again.
