MMR vaccination campaign to be launched in Kangra

A signature campaign to protect children from major childhood diseases like measles, mumps and rubella will be started in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh from August 1.

Under the Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination programme, all children between the age of nine months to 15 years shall be vaccinated, districtmedical officer Rajesh Guleri told reporters here.

He said the campaign was initiated by Dharamshala Municipal Corporation Mayor Rajni Vyas.

"A MMR vaccination programme to protect children against measles, mumps andrubella will start in the district of Kangra from August 1, where every child between the age of 9 months to 15 years shall be vaccinated," Guleri said.
 

"All governmentand private schools as well as aanganwaadis shall be covered under the programme by well-trained health officials," he said.
