MMRDA receives interest from domestic, foreign firms for metro

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has received interest from both domestic and international firms for constructing the DN Nagar-Mankhurd metro 2B and Wadala-Ghatkopar-Mulund-Thane- Kasarvadavali metro 4 corridors.

"In all, 10 companies have shown keen interest and are in fray to construct four packages of DN Nagar to Mankhurd Metro 2B and five packages of Wadala-Ghatkopar-Mulund -Thane-Kasarvadavali metro 4 corridors," Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) said in a statement issued here today.

Among the firms include L&T which has shown interest in one package of metro 2B and all five packages of metro 4 corridor. Similarly, Afcons Infrastructure is the fray for one package of metro 2B and all two packages of metro-4 corridor.
 

A consortium of GHEC-RCC-JV-China are interested in one package of Metro-2B, while NCC and JMC have applied for two packages each of metro-2B and metro-4 corridor and Reliance-RdE-JV are in fray for three packages each of Metro-2B and Metro-4 corridor.

JKumar Group has pitched in for two packages of Metro-2B and one package of Metro-4 corridor, while Simplex are keen to construct two packages of Metro-2B corridor.

ITD Cementation has stepped in for one package each for both the corridors, while CHEC-TPL consortium has expressed interest in constructing two packages of Metro-2B and three packages of Metro-4 corridor.

The estimated completion cost of 23.5 km Metro-2B corridor is Rs 10,986 crore, while that of the 32 km Metro-4 is Rs 14,549 crore.
